Champagne Cattier is a family-owned champagne house situated in the village Chigny-les-Roses in the Montagne de Reims part of Champagne, France. The Cattier Family have been vineyard owners since 1763, and started to produce champagnes under their own name in 1918. Cattier owns 20 hectares of vineyards, which are mainly classified as Premier Cru on the village-based Champagne classification scale Autre Cru — Premier Cru — Grand Cru. In 2006, the family resurrected a dormant champagne name ‘Armand de Brignac’ which they owned, to be used for some of Cattier's spectacular bottles. Cattier began a collaboration with Sovereign Brands to market the brand, and a separate website for the newly named Armand de Brignac was established. The champagne Armand de Brignac Brut Gold features a gold colored bottle with a pewter label made in an ace of spades design. Four genuine pewter labels are fitted to the opaque gold bottle and polished by hand. Each bottle presents subtle differences in the tone, texture, and hues of the beaten metal. Each bottle is wrapped in a lush embroidered velvet bag or in a stunning black lacquered wood gift box with velvet lining. This champagne is sold at a significantly higher price than any previous Cattier champagne, due to the nature of the grape selection used, the hand-intensive production method, and the limited production. The champagne is very popular among celebrities for special events and personal use, including Tom Cruise, Will Smith, David & Victoria Beckham, LeBron James, Roger Federer, Justin Timberlake, Larry Johnson, Sean “Diddy” Combs, George Clooney, and Alex Rodriguez. Armand de Brignac Brut Gold Champagne retails for $300 USD per bottle in the USA, while prices in Europe vary between 250-350 €. There is also a Brut Rosé available and a Blanc de Blancs is to be expected soon. These bottles will go for an additional 100 USD/EUR.
